Default Leaves falling in Spring

Hi everyone. Newbie here
Sadly, I dont even know what type of tree this is. I'd guess some type of Oak. This is our second year in this house, and I don't recall this happening last year.
Since about three days ago, there has been a steady stream of leaves falling from our tree. The leaves look really unhealthy.. bumps on them, brown spots, etc.. I took some photos today so I'll start there...

I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't mean removing the tree.. we really love it. Thanks in advance for any input.

Default Re: Leaves falling in Spring

looks like you have a silver maple there, the red bumps are insect galls and are not harmful to the tree only cosmetic, the black spots look like anthracnose, which causes the leaves to fall off, as the weather warms the fungus will reside and the tree will grow new leaves, this happened to mine a few years ago and i thought i was going to loose it but it came back better than ever
