I planted a rather large Japanese Blueberry tree at my new home at the beginning of June. Now, the tree is literally "half" dead. I don't mean top to bottom half, but vertically half. The tree receives water at least three times weekly and lately, we have had some substantial rain, but nothing seems to help. I have not noticed any "black" on the leaves that are still healthy nor have I noticed any insect on the tree. I need help with this. I want to save a very expensive tree. |

Could you post pictures of the tree top, middle, bottom shots, did you damage any roots whilst planting? what did you put in the hole before planting? how much bigger than the root ball did you make the hole? what are the soil conditions and types eg clay, sandy, wet, boggy? did you plant it to the pot level or deeper if deeper this can suffocate the tree. hope that helps

Vertically half eh. Well, that means roots on the dead side are stuffed somehow. Could be they were broken or stretched and torn or something in planting. Was the tree staked? Or something took a dirty great peee on that side of the tree, I say that in jest but mean perhaps something was poured on it or put on that side to damage the roots.
