Hi We have an established Jacaranda (planted by previous owners) growing next to our fence. please see attached photo. Our next door neighbours are concerned that it is damaging the fence and are asking us to do something about it. Even suggesting that we should cut down the tree. If we slice a piece off the tree to create a gap between it and the fence will this damage the tree? ![]() Regards, Malcolm Last edited by Jeff Darby; 3rd January 2010 at 01:44 PM. Try to accomodate it some other way, adjust the fenceline a bit at that spot or have a section cut out of the fence for clearance. If they think that will look funny then paint the tree same colour as fence so you hardly notice. ![]() Situation looks pretty trivial to me.

. have a section cut out of the fence for clearance. : will save time and money on removal or later treating the tree due to damage to the trunk if cut . its win win
