Well, I think this is an elm. Correct me if I am wrong. Does anyone know the cultivator by just looking at it? Next I did not prune this guy for 4 season now. I think I need to select a central leaver. Should I cut the 2 leaders on the side back to the main trunk? Or would that be too extreme? Last edited by Eric Frei; 6th October 2008 at 10:12 PM. Appears to be an American elm. The tree is doing what it is genetically programmed to do - forming codominant stems. No need to cut any of them out. |

The worry in the distant future may be what the root system does to the drive or street. It appears to be a very sound and healthy specimen at this time. |
