Nothing sure about this, but have you tried hot water (with vigorous scrubbing)? Takes most paints off. Other things to try might be WD40 or Acetone.

Hi burgerman, nope have tried everything I know to get that sap out of clothes, including the hard scrubbing, another one that does it is Trachelospermum jasminoides. I leave those shirts for jobs which I know are clothes wreckers. Julie |

Try eucalyptus oil, it removes chewing gum. Also try Pinesol

Yeah I keep hering butter and mayo works but never tried it. Seriously, those ficus trees sap is bloody terrible, I get like burned by their sap and skin goes black and peels off.

Like those raincoats they sell at the footy for $2 Jayd. They're light as. Don't you guys have to wear fluro's for oh&s though? They're not that cheap I don't think, my husband has to wear them down the pit but the pit supplies them. I'm trying to imagine spreading mayonnaise over clothes! that might make the washing machine a bit messy going or clug up the filter or something. |

You might also try an auto parts store - the hand cleaners often contain an abrasive that cleans up amazing stuff if applied soon enough. And they might have a product that cleans up rubbery residues. I don't think my washing machine would like mayonnaise either. and Jayd - Norway Maples and Mulberries exude white sap - I couldn't afford to throw away clothing that got stained everytime I trimmed one of these trees. They are REALLY common in Toronto. lol |

I don't know about Norway Maples but Mullbery and most ficus wash out pretty easy, unlike Rubber tree. Not many around here now but we used to do a lot of them. I just kept one set of clothes for them, they're just about water proof now. Not a good idea to turn up to a job wearing them though. |
