How long it will take, how big they are and how much mess there is.

Generally this is the most competative yet worst job.

I'm just a builder but same applies:

As Eric said,

Estimate how many hours to do the job x your hourly rate + extra labour.
Add removal of waste.
Add overheads like fuel, insurances, office, gear and equipment.
Add a bit for profit.

If you don't get the job go a bit lower next time. If you do get it and loose money, go a bit higher next time.
If all goes well you are in the ballpark.

LOL

Couldn't have said it better.

There's no real rule, it's not like walking into a shop and buying 100' of rope @ 0.10c a foot = $10.00

Everyone's skills, speed, equipment, overheads vary.

Sound like a good aproach to quoteing palms to me!
The next thing is guesstimating the amount of bulk waste you will get from various size heads a little more tricky.
