I have a huge number of white cedar planted very close to each other. We were going to remove some that were under powerlines, but discovered that all of the cedars behind those under the powerlines have limited, if any, green on them. We've topped the cedars for now, but would like to remove them. If we remove the cedars in front, will the cedars behind create new growth now that they will be getting light ? Thanks, |

I doubt it, they'll be brown and ugly for ever I reckon .... there must be some green on them somewhere though. Why did you top them trees?

We topped the trees because they were interferring with the high voltage power lines running above them. So it sounds like my best option to keep some green somewhere is not remove these to expose the ones in behind, and just keep pruning them back whenever they come near those darn power lines..... argh |
