so im removing a rainbow eucalyptus(deglupta) and i have gone over every possibility for its death and cant find any issues that could be leading to its decline. the home owner says it was dropping leaves over a period of time and finally died. all i can think of is over fertilized as there was recent landscape work being done on the other side of the hedge fence. the other trees are showing signs of decline as well. they are loosing a rapid amount of leafs and already have dead and declining branches at the base but the tops are still alive. i dont understand this. heres some pics of the dead tree.

Landscape work could involve root pruning and/or root suffocation and maybe even pesticide application. Do you have any pics of the base - client's side, and the "other side" of the hedge? And what kind of time interval has this happened over?

the tree being removed is the one on the right. i took it down today. the top laterals were crispy dead and as i worked down the trunk it got wetter and eventually around 16" diameter started bleeding alot of water.

So there is at least 6 inches of extra soil above the root system on the neighbour's side? Sounds like root suffocation, and depending what the conditions were like on the owner's side, the tree can't get enough water and air up to the crown.
