This small australian peppermint gum I love has a large canker? or actually a roughly oval thick brown-edged bark loss on one side near a node. It is easily 10 yo. The limb is wrapped in fabric and the fungus or insect doesnt seem to be spreading (I think I scrubbed it with napthenate). It looks unsightly. Should I 1 ) trim off the brown material and re wrap the limb with cloth and napthenate or something 2 ) trim off the brown material with an angle grinder maybe and put bitumin over the whole barkless area or something else? cheers jere |
