Default Guioas

Hi, everyone,

Just thought I'd get your opinion on best maintenance for a grove of
about 20 of these trees. They're about 10 metres tall. Would it be best
to trim a branch or two, maybe even some of the canopy? Do they ever fall over in strong wind?

Thanks for your help.

Gday Kim @ Kingy,, I am from Bilambil but moved to the sth coast,, Guioas are a great tree - tuff as guts and native animals love them - they love a good prune but follow your basic Arb pricncipals- correct collars will heal up beautifully and they shape really well,, but if you stub cut them they are prone to infection,, ( and of course look crap) Why do they need maintenance? Any tree can fall in the wrong wind-- especially some of the storms we get up round kingy/ tweed.. but thet seem to be strong- good for holding creek banks together.. I could give you the name /ph of a guy who lives local and knows his stuff but i dont know if im allowed!

Guioa semiglauca?

Excellent local native choice round where i'm from, possible street tree. Awesome tree! good for suburban backyards. would think only small remnant populations of them still exist.... they have funny collars and where tuxedos

If Guioa semiglauca, person who planted them is a legend!
