I want to plant an evergreen shade tree and am looking for some suggestions. Details as follows; Location is in the foothills of Adelaide (Mitcham). Height 5 to 8 metres, similar width. Sloping land with clayish soils. Location is on the southern side of my land and I want to use the tree to get privacy from neighbours across the road so want a reasonably dense canopy. I want to be able to walk under the tree so want canopy to start approx 2m up when mature. A concrete driveway is about 1.5m away so I want to try to avoid anything with too vigorous (spreading) root system. One suggestion I have had is a Lilly Pilly (see attached). My only concern with this is the berries. Would appreciate any other suggestions. Last edited by Laputa; 25th August 2011 at 06:42 PM. Reason: Add further comment. |
