Default Euc failed

Hi guys, I had a big globulus fall overnight on a property we maintain. About 100' to 120' tall and on a slope that a landscape company maintains. This slope is full of acacia and ice plant and massive over watering. Sprinklers everywhere. Anyway, we did a 25% crown thin about 2 months ago on this slope that has 57 more of the same. We told the landscapers there was too much watering and vegatation growing up nearly a foot above the trunk. I know they need to keep things green to look good. Well, I got the call at 6 in the morning and when I got there two news crews were there and sheriff's and people wanting to know what happened. It totalled a new Ford F-150 and took 4 guys 4 hours to clean up. Question, there were no visible signs of potential failure but it snapped off the trunk at the same level as the vegatation. Inside were ants and rotten wood. Well, you could not know that by lookig at it in a pre-climb inspection. Being an arborist, I can expect a lot of questions. What do you guys think?
Jeff

Hard to say without pictures.

O a recent site of mine the trees are on a slope and soil plus rocks built up against the trunk, totally natural.

I scraped away as best I could and for peace of mind drilled them, checking wood smell, moisture, colour and pressure to drill. Sometimes VTA symptoms are a little tough but in target situations better to be safe than sorry.
