Default Elderflower - half suddenly sick

Hello,

I have an elderflower that appears to be half sick. The main stem appears suddenly to be dying, leaves wilting, branches drooping. The other stems are appear to be doing fine and there are brand new stems which also appear fine. I transplanted it as a sapling about 5-6 years ago. The water table is very high and there is no calcium in the water. Can it be saved?

Thanks in advance,

Peter Olson

I presume elderflower is the same as elderberry, and if so it is normally a fairly robust shrub. Need pics to get ideas about what could be wrong - pics of healthy and unhealthy parts, stem, leaves, flowers/fruiting parts, base of shrub and site, kind of soil the shrub is growing in, and how high water table is -- ie within 1 inch of ground, 6 inches, 2 ft, flooding etc.
