Default Effect of Zip Line Canopy Tour Installation on existing Lodgepole Pine Trees / Forest

I have a question that I hope someone here can answer for me. There is a company who is attempting to build a zip line canopy tour in a natural park area near the community where I live. We as community representatives are having a meeting with them next Monday and I would like to have a bit of information regarding the effect a tour like this may have on the existing natural environment prior to the meeting.

There are some concerns about what effect the installation of such a project will have on the forest, namely the Lodgepole pine trees that they want to secure cables and platforms to, but community members would also like to know what the long term effects of a project such as this may have on tree health and the ecosystem.

If you have any information on this, I would be very grateful to hear it as soon as possible!

Thanks Folks.

This is a huge question to try to answer on a forum.

I have worked at a number of places, with bridges, zip lines etc. There's many many factors to consider but the primary argument is how things are attached to the trees.

You'd be better off to wait for or get their specifications and ideas, put them up for critique.

They should have things like ecological impact assessments, hardware installation etc .... there should be a lot of documentation. Things like where do people park? How do they access the site? Will paths and walkways be installed? How will compaction beneath trees be averted?
