Another Q. I also have an edgeworthia...I recently moved it (about 4 foot tall) ..It needed more shade. Anyway, the leaves are really yellowing and falling off. Is this shock from the move? Is it dying? Do I need to feed it? I water it at least 3-4 times a week...Does it need more? Maybe I've watered to much? Help! Anna |

How much soil did you move with it? You didn't lift it by the stem with all that soil weight did you? check the soil moisture, stick your finger in it. Too wet is a problem and can drown the plant (leaves can be soft but go yellow first then brown off at the margins) .... too dry and leaves will brown, wither, die and drop off. Sounds drowing to me, often occurs when the new hole you dug is poorly drained and the plant sits in a well of water.

From what you've described, I'm thinking way to much water then...The tree came out easily..roots did not have much time to spread..The root ball still had its pot form. I moved the soil from the location it was originally in, to the new location. Do you feel that the tree might recover if I let it be for a while?? ..Or is all hope lost? TIA.. Anna |

I killed a few trees like that Dov. Murdered them with kindness, too much of everything. I know better now though. |
