Greetings from Western Wisconsin I planning a patio/deck set up in my back yard. I have a soft maple I would like to work around. The cement patio will be located between the tree and the house. As you look at the picture I am referring to the left side of the picture and the tree. To the right side (south) of the tree I have plans for a deck. As you can see I have the new addition to the house on the east side of the tree. I will be putting a gutter system on the additions roof. My thoughts are to have the downspout feed into perforated drain tile which would be place around the tree and under the concrete patio. I assume that this would be beneficial for the trees root system. The soil under the topsoil is considerable sandy. Am I incorrect to assume this? Also is there any concerns I should be aware of to caring out my plans to work around the maple tree? I will thank in advance for your recomendations. Tim |
