Default Danger tree Assessments / Fire line

Hey guys,

im real keen to get into this kind of work, Assessing dangerous trees along fire lines, or Fire break felling. hopefully in BC Canada.

if any one out there has any information/ advice / stories from their experience's in this i would be grateful

i hold the WINTEC advanced Cert in Arboriculture Level 4, and am willing to complete any more quals or certs that is required.

any advice is appreciated.

I think the BC Canada mob require some special licence etc.

PM Gypo Logger to this thread as I know he went there (or close to it) to do some felling and had to root around to get the tickets etc. He knows first hand the paperwork and BS so get him into this thread.

Fallers cerification is pretty involved here in B.C., however there is a grandfather clause whereby you do a written and practical test, however I don't know about fireline felling. Also, see if you can contact some helicopter pilots here in B.C, as there are a few that come from New Zealand. They may be able to help
