CRIMSON KING MAPLE...Fast Grower or what?

Hi there..I planted 2 Crimson King Maples 4 years ago hoping that they would take off and grow like weeds , but that hasn't been the case. The trees seem healthy and grow beautiful leaves...the trunks have also beefed up nice...I just am not seeing much increase in the overall size...I watered them very well the last two years....Any suggestions....?? Is there a good fertilizer that will give 'em a great head start this year?

These were purchased in plastic pots from the local hardware store.....

Oh..And I am in Ontario CANADA..just outside of Toronto....

Pics would help immensely. I trust the plastic pots were removed.
