Can anybody tell me is there any good uses for what i know as the Canary Palm tree stumps?

I think he might mean as wood for something.

Palm wood or stump both decompose quick. It's basically full of water and dries out.

In saying that the Polynesian islands do make some utensils and furniture. They might be using coconut palm wood though. Looks like they mill it quickly fresh then varnish/laquer/seal it. It is brittle and soft though.

I once had a wood carver come and get some long logs so he could carve stuff but long term isn't going to last as well as "real wood".
