Default Coral Tree

Hi,
I have an old Coral tree in my back yard, that regularly has branches falling down. We've had a few tree loppers' advise regarding pruning/cutting it down. I don't want to cut it down, but I am worried a big branch is going to fall on my baby boy if he's in the back yard.
Anyway I think I need the opinion of an arborist. I can post some pictures. The tree lopper thinks the tree needs a good prune, but I'm not sure I trust his opinion. He's quoting $700 to prune and $2000 to cut the tree down.
Any advice on coral trees in general. The stump is about 1m wide.
Thanks

Coral Trees are weeds, and are extremely prone to losing branches and often large ones at the drop of a hat. The wood is very soft and when a branch falls they will often root and sprout new growth. I have often thought that branch failure was part of the trees tactic for survival and reproduction. pruning a coral tree is not the answer it will just put on more growth which is weakly attached and keep on dropping branches. Cut it down and plant a native to your area.
