What kind of climbing harness do you all suggest to use. I cant seem to find one that is very comfortable. The one i have now is a Navaho Vario sit harness by Petzl, and i cant climb long with out discomfort. The only one i could find i liked only had one attachment point in the front and no D-rings on the side, wasnt very safe. Any suggestions.

Contact Bishop co, Whittier Cal. They have catalogues and a great selection. They ship to Australia, so they should ship to Indiana ok. Also Sierra Morino In San Francisco. Steve |

Pomme i right, you must try before you buy. What the most common harness then? Probably the buckingham traverse i would say, give that a try. Also may be you need to change your climbing technique, climb the tree a bit more to take the weight off your harness sometimes. I have the Tree Motion, very very comfortable, unless your climbing with a chainsaw haha. If you clip your saw up on your hip its ok but if your one who has the saw swing below you feet this harness is probably not for you.

Hey Jim Hows the working holiday treating you? Any good stories? I have a Buckingham traverse, but I climb with a saw 99% of the time and on spikes 99% of the time.

Hi, John and myself both use Buck Aussie Traverse, Me personally once I found my correct fitting for my fat but it is getting more comfortable all the time, John had a climb in a Tree Motion and has a woody for it so he's saving to get one! his buck is'nt more 7 months old but I could tell by the bloody great smirk on his face on his way down the tree he was sold. cleland, take every oportunity to try as many harness's as you can to make sure it's money well spent, Not just gear junkying...not that I can talk I'm a gear junky from way back! ![]() ![]()

| I tried on this harness and went up a tree in it(with out a chainsaw) and it was bloody comfortable!!! I wouldn't mind getting one myself... I usually have my saw swinging at my feet... Are the breakaway accessories loops to easily broken away? Jim, could you list the pro's and con's of the Tree Motion?

John, na its not that it might pull the straps out is just with a saw it feels like its pulling the harness off you... Pros Massive amount of movement Comfortability, when you get it adjusted right Adjustability, even center of balance Variation of set up, with gear loops, bridge length Variation of attachment points Cons Not soo good with a saw hanging off the back but ok on the side Price but i dont think that should be an issue! Small side d rings Hmm thats all i can think of at the moment, might be able to add more tomorrow

Talking about beer, what do they/you drink over there? You'll have to get some pics Jim, lets see the work you do over there. What sort of trees mainly? At least there's no stupid palms!
