Default Broken Trunk

After a recent hurricane the tree lost a big chunk of the trunk and as we inspected it we noticed that it is split. The yellow circle on the attached picture is what broke and we cut off. The orange circle is the large split. Is there anything we can do to save this tree? It is about 5-6 years old.

Thanks for your help!

Default Re: Broken Trunk

Drill through and bolt the split together. Perhaps higher up install a dynamic cable.
