dear arborist i have a grove of about 15 silver birches and i have found borers in the main trunks of 5 trees. the diameter of these trunks vary from 3 cm to 10 cm. i have been told that there are no treatments perse, that only stressed and ill trees get the disease and correcting the stresses will help and nature will do the rest? i live in adelaide in south australia. the whole grove is laid with a dripper system and is watered for 8-12 hours weekly. there is a layer of straw put down each growing season. i found a lot of beetles under the straw this year. please help. i really want to save those trees and stop the borers spreading to the rest. thank you and cheers beeli . |

| Did you know that borers are the larvae stage of bugs including beetles, moths etc. We need pics of the beetles too.
