Hello guys, first off thank you for anyone who comments to help. I was wondering if Blood meal is good for pines trees. I believe it has a npk of 13-0-0 and is from a 100% organic source. My friend is always picking up the needles and would like to know if using this would help compensate for this. Would it be safe to use once a year? Thank you once again.

1-2 x per year would be ok, but it would also be good to shred the needles and dig them into the soil for faster decomposition returning the natural nutrients to the tree. The bloodmeal will also help the needles break down. You should also consider some potash - enhances the growth of the top and roots.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I never heard of potash before and will ask my friend to consider it. How low would you recommend digging the needles(inches)? Thank you once again.

Turn the soil over within about 6 inches of the surface, mixing in bloodmeal as you go, and some potash (the K of NOK).
