black and brown spots on birch and mulberry

Default black and brown spots on birch and mulberry

these two trees got these spots last year towards the end of summer. then this year they are getting them again, is this something to worry about? it did not seem to effect the trees vigor this year. also there is a crack that formed in the trunk of the mulberry
