Default bad week for my trees

Hello again,

I posted last week concerning my Jacaranda, thankyou to everyone for replying.
But it has not been a good week for the trees at my place. On Friday the council checked this beautiful native outside my house and have earmarked it for removal. I did request their inspection so am not suprised, dissapointed though.
My problem is that I was not here when they inspected and was wondering if you could tell me what you think the reason was for its demise. I am starting to get a bit paranoid that there is a link between why my Jacaranda is dying and this tree. (Forest Lake, Brisbane, Aust)

Well apart from looking like it has had a gradient change as you cant see the root flare, and a large basal wound in the picture, its hard to tell without actually being there. give it a while there will be a greenie along any minute to hug it and save it from the chainsaw.
if you asked them to come out to it they may think you want it out and will take it out because of all the cases they are getting at the moment, or there is something seriously wrong with the tree.

It's a grey gum, developer special.

That means violated TPZ and SRZ, filled, compacted and basal damage from machinery.

All great ingredients for this look that Brisbane City Council is now worrying about.

They're not alone, Penrith Council must also read this forum as they are removing SRZ violated gum trees.

Thanks and spread the word, we are independent, tell it the way it is and wont hide behind political banners or organisations ulterior motives.
