Default Apple Tree Question

Hello, I am writting in from ontario, Canada. I recently had 2 apple tree's given to me, they are in pots. I am not sure what area of my yard to put them, I have about 200ft of yard that tapers from high and dry to low and very wet for most of the spring and when it rains that area will be pond like for a few days. I am just wondering what do apple tree's like for placement?. I was told about 100 years ago my land and surrounding area was full of apple tree's but a lot has changed over those years. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
