I see Newguy is from Liveoak, about 2 hours north of Orlando where I am. Any other Floridians out there? Specifically, any Floridians looking for a willing assistant over the summer? My work keeps me on the road most of the year but I get about 2 months during the summer where I have nothing to do, and I'd love to work for someone and learn at the same time. Also, Orlando being the tourist destination that it is, drop me a line if any of you are ever in town and we'll grab a beer somewhere.

Well it's not Florida, but ya could come out here for the summer =) Plenty of palms for you to slay in Southern Cali... lots of other work besides. WARNING.... it hits up to 120*F here in the summer though.. Makes it hard to keep working unless you cover up and drink about 3 gallons of water a day... ![]() Yeah...I'm thinkin you should stick to Florida... Just thought I'd offer ![]() Oh yes, that's 120*F in the *shade*, and you KNOW you won't be working in the shade....LOL |

Having grown up in Chicago I got all the cold I could handle as a kid. Now at 38 I travel for a living and count the days until I can get home to the nice hot south. Even this time of year, its 81F which is perfect to me. I'll deal with the 90's in the summer by putting the top down on my 74 VW Thing.

One good thing about living in Florida is you can go to the beach and cool off! There's always a breeze blowing there when it gets hot. At least it was that way when I lived in citrus county. |

| Not yet, I'm looking around though. There are quite a few companies locally and I might give some of them a call.... still early in the year yet, and I won't get off the road until late march-mid june.

Fort Bragg, nice place, good climate, better than up north here at Del Norte. Let me know when you get over here, we can go bust up a bar in Willits sometime. So, what are you going to do for work, grow pot? RandyMac |

Won't matter, the dives by the railroad tracks don't check. Anyway, can you tell me why you choose Fort Bragg? Do you have family there to help you? Fort Bragg used to be a typical mill town, back in the late '60s, there must have been 40-60 acres of old growth log decks, some were stacked more than 40 feet high. A great horizontal forest. |

As good a reason as any. If you get jammed up some how, let me know, at the very least, I can laugh at you. Really, if you find yourself living in a cardboard box, I may be able to direct you to someone who will help you. I have a couple contacts in the Santa Rosa area, which is a pretty nice place, lots of older nieghborhoods with lots of trees. |

Hard to say, I haven't been there in a few years, hope it's not full of yuppies. Rent here varies, some folks think the house is made of gold and price like it was. A small, older house goes for $550-$650 here. With the housing market the way it is, I would expect rent to be reasonable, loads of empty houses.
