The leaves look well chewed. Can you post a pic of the bark, and tell us the length/breadth of the leaves? Looks vaguely like alder, but I don't think it is.

I looks like common persimmon, Diospyros virginiana L., a good identification key (once you learn to recognize it) is the net like pattern of tiny veins best seen on the underside of the leaves. I destructive key is chambered pith on one year old wood. Only female persimmon trees have fruit.
