I am far from a tree or shrub expert. I have a branch of what appears to be a Colorado Spruce growing out of my Alberta Spruce. I found this interesting because the Alberta branch is coming off the trunk and on the very end, the Colorado branch takes over. Is this common and what may cause this? I apologize if this type of thread is not what this board is meant for. Thank you.

I have seen this as well in Utah. I can't say for sure but it could be that what you're seeing is a branch on this white spruce cultivar (Picea glauca "conica")reverting back to its parentage white spruce (Picea glauca). According to Dirr, native white spruce have needles that can get "3/4" long ending in an acute point", which would reemble a Colorado blue spruce.
