I have very little experience with planting trees, but I have been given two acorns that I hope to plant. The acorns are from Major Oak, which was the tree hideout of Robin Hood and his gang in Sherwood Forest. The problem is, the acorns are in very bad shape. From what I've been able to read online, they would normally be the types to throw out. They are very dried out and brittle, and likely old. I am willing to go to any length to see these acorns grow. What can I do? Is there any hope? Thanks. |

all life comes from the strongest egg why try to start life in something that will struggle from the start, go and pick some decent ones from sherwood there are thousands of trees with thousands of acorns all with what sounds like a better chance of living. then set them in small pots with a good growing media, either start them in a green house or a cold frame and they will do thier magic with a little water and love.
