Default 4' dbh sweet gum tree droping limbs

I'm dealing with a very large and old sweet gum tree and trying to figure out the problem. The canopy is green; I don’t see any big signs of root decay, or anything that would be cause limb loss. It has been losing big limb randomly just for the past two months. When I have investigated the limbs they have green leafs but the internal layers of the limbs have no moisture. The tree is about 10 feet away from the house and about 15 feet from the road. We just removed the other sweet gum that was about 8 to 10 feet to the left side of the tree. That tree was showing some of the same signs with brittle break limbs and loosing large limbs with there being no signs of water in the limbs, but they still have green leafs. I'm thinking it my be Sweetgum Blight. But I'm looking for some help with this problem to figure out the best course of action

Need to see some pics of the trees, and where they are growing, closeups and distant shots.

In a mature-ish Sweet Gum/Liquidambar failures are more likely due to structure than health.

Either over-extended, end-heavy lateral branches or on a bigger scale, co-dominant stems with acute unions & included bark.

but yeah.....anyway....how bout some pics?

Good one bamtree.

Get shots that show the overall form of the canopy, as well as closer shots of any unions of large multiple stems.
