Default When did Austchip go broke ?

Was in Melbourne the other week, went to go and visit Austchip to see what stuff he had available and no longer in factory. It was located in viewtech rd Roville ? just up from ENSPEC. Bandit dealer said owner sold the buisness and the new owner went broke ? Pity he made good machines, owners rarely got rid of them under 6000 hrs.

Ive heard the same thing, but they might come back. Sad that an Aussie manufacturer is gone. Could use a few more...

Forgive me if I'm wrong but it appears the company Auschip that made that chipper went broke and is no longer in business. So they did make it but no longer do...

So I was wondering about service and warranties in case one of those nice little chippers became available. Or would it be like buying a MG a few years ago?

My appologies i read it as "did not do" not "did make but not anymore" lost in translation
i have found a few people with parts over the last year. but i think warranties are now void

Unless you roll it down a hill and set it on fire its gonna last forever. My old boss had one and it was fkd bad but still worked.

All the parts are pretty basic. Standard size bearings, hydraulic components etc.
Any machine shop will keep them going.

Hi.
first post.

I recently purchased and Austchip 4" chipper and wanted to get some bits and found out that indeed Austchip had gone from Rowville.
I believe that the business was sold and then folded.
I just got off the phone to Rod from "Prochip" the new owners, and he was very helpful. They are going to continue to service the 6" and up machines and will continue to make the 4" machine. Geoff the owner of Austchip is now working for Prochip, so the product will be the same.
Great forum by the way.

Hey sorry to revive such an old thread but I have an austchip 225, with quite a few hours on it.

Any-one got a manual?

Will swap a copy for anything - beer, cash, two goats and my first born son, my right arm, etc etc

The new owners should be able to get you a manual or put you onto whoever can.
