the new fiberglass helmets are superb for groundies, but stihl and husky both make very good helmets all have slime bands that get well slimey, i use a petzle for climbing because they have a soft polystyrene type band, stihl have a twist system to adjust the size that comes in very handy. go to a retailer and try some out.

+1 @ Galbee. For pure ground use, either Stihl or the Husky helmet systems would be fine. I used Stihl myself. Works great! A little bulky. Some of the guys have said they like they Husky's helmet system better, but I'm not sure if that's just preference or rivalry. For climbing, I also use Petzl. |

I use Husky on the ground, and I'm doing some climbing now and have used the Petzl vertex for that which I like. |

Oh, and I'd say go for a mesh instead of a faceshield. The shields get covered in bar oil and grime and crap, the mesh everything shots off of pretty well and breathes good. Can kinda "glare" a little when looking towards the sun though. |

Stihl for me, seem to work good and are comfortable but the ear muffs break easily, there is a small plastic piece that keeps the muff against your head that breaks then your ear muff just hangs there. but if you take care of them they should be fine tho mine tend to get stuff set on top of them.
