Any chance you can post some more info about the machine? Does that price include delivery?

According to Morbark USA its only 27hp petrol. The Vermeer has the same power and the Rayco has 2hp less. Bandit/Chipstar/Red Roo are all 30s/40s.

Folks,
see here:
Morbark 6" Spec Sheet

There are a few of these around. There is quite an informative article here about the machine.

Cheers,

Joe

PS price includes delivery although it may depend on where you are....

I'm also chasing a small chipper, a 9" under 1800kg would be ideal but I'll probably have to settle on a 6". There is so few second hand hand chippers in Perth it's hard to find them. I may consider the 6" morbark if nothing turns up but budget is only about $15k max.
I have seen a 1992 Vermeer BC620 for $11,500. It has a 27hp petrol with 2600 hrs on it. It looks quite crappy but seems to be OK mechanically. It seems a bit pricey for an old 6" to me or is this what I should expect to pay for one?

If anyone in WA comes across any please let me know.

Good going Chris

I were just about to say the vermeer would be my least prefered 6",

So you've done well to go to a brand new Morbark.

I have a promark 310 that we started to renovate a view years ago but have never had time to finish. It Was Sand Blasted and undercoated then painted Engine is a 25 hp Kohler that was running but will need replacing or rebuilding We would let it go as is for $3300 including gst

A bit of an update. We finally got the chipper and have given it a couple of days hard work. For the work we usually do it will be ideal but we used it for a couple of eucalyptus removals which really tested it.
We chipped everything that we could fit into the 6" x 11" opening. It is a bit slow on the big stuff but it keeps one person fairly busy without too much waiting. It's light and easy tow and chips as well as we expected it to.
A imagine a decent diesel engine would improve the speed but it would also increase the weight. We are only working part time and will mainly stick to residential pruning so for what what we do it is ideal.
The build quality is excellent and the only thing that could improve it would be a more powerful motor.
