Must be in very good condition and present well. Pref Melbourne but will go interstate for the right rig. Trev |

Nice truck trev, 175 or 200hp model? You can get good cubes into them as they have smaller wheels and lower profile tyres, thus closer to the ground without her getting too high. For the canopy, if dooing steel, there is colourbond sheet called "signwhite". Its only .55 thick but is pre finished and saves time/paint. If you line the interrier (ie gal sheet) then finish her off with this on the outside they look scmick. I have a small chip truck and only use it for chips. I have just used the sign white and it was quick and comes up great. Good Luck |

Coming together well. Built in storage box. ![]() Frame going up. ![]() Sheet going on. Got held up here as the suppliers cut it wrong. The 3 main panels on the right side vary a bit in size (all on the plan) and the goose cut them all the same. Unfortunately he did the all the same as the smallest one! ![]() 3 days work so far. 1 more in it i reckon, then paint. Doing it myself after quotes of $8-9,000 and 10-12 week wait |

Pretty happy with my work, did the lot myself with only some help to hold things in place. Funny we laugh at homeowners doing their own trees but it's exactly what i've done ![]() Saved several Thousand dollars, got it done exactly how i wanted and in a 1 1/2 week turnaround |

Yeah I'll tell the boys if the whole thing falls off driving down the freeway to just keep going, dont stop ![]() I'd rate myself a novice welder but sure got a lot more experience now thats finished. 2 1/2 bottles of gas and about 8kg of wire went into it. ![]() Like you said, i wouldn't try anything that seriously depended on it but am confident with the work that went into this. I know what you mean about a nice looking weld, but its penetration that counts and i think i can tell when i've got that or not. Still struggle with welding upside down though |

I'ts like juggleing red hot globules of molten metal above your head while telling yourself it's really not burnnnnning.....LOL. I've burnt off a few beards over the years doing overheads...LOL..Another time at tech while I was learning to do overheads I was welding away and felt a little to warm around my ankle I looked down and here I was on fire..LOL..Blown red hot dross while oxy cutting 13 foot in the air straight into my steelcaps and burnt the bejinles out of my foot....The memories go on..I dont miss the fumes or what used to do all the time fix up other tradies bugger ups..I loathed that. Memories, Now I weld for me and mine. I noticed a lot of weld splatter on your frame, The easiest way to remove it quickly is with a brikkies bolster ground flat across the nose. ![]() ![]()

Great get up ya got there. Can't beat a cab over. Power, fuel, turning, not to mention reliability. Worked in a fab shop for six years and the shop foreman was a weld votec teacher. Priceless! Nice job on the chip box. The ability to plan your work and work your plan doesn't just happen. Putting together the shop with the right tools to make projects flow takes experience. Material list, layout, fitting welding, prep work and painting, all thoughtout in advance. Rolling down the road with real pride the kind thats earned and enjoyed. I have built a couple of chip boxes would advise you to watch the welds at the top rear above the doors. they are under alot of stress, as if all vibrations and shaking are absorbed there. I ended up puting gussets there. You have the chipping truck to have!
