Hi All I am chasing a chipper in Brisbane. I have only $5000 to play with. I know it's a big ask but I need something reasonable to get off the ground. Look forward to your responses. Cheers |

For that price you'll be lucky to get a beat up 6" POS. If you want an entry level chipper you'll have to up your budget to $15k, then your options really open up.

Yeah I know... I don't mind rebuilding or replacing the motor and I can certainly improve anything cosmetically, gauges etc. I am happy to spend time and money on something reasonable. Thanks for you reply. |

The bandit there is a 14" not 18" as stated,It also has no fuel cap and has water in the fuel tank and was ran until it stopped. They still want around $20kway too much IMO for a not running machine.

The BC1000XL looks to be the pick of the bunch there, but I'm also now a bit biased towards the Vermeers now. The white Rivet looks shocking, the other one is a nice step up though but I'm not a fan of the Hatz engines. Looks like someone took a corner a bit too quick with that little Rayco though.

| Pfft, who needs tail lights anyway. Those lights in the Vermeers are baaaaaad, the flashing light for the emergency bar stop on our 1800XL keeps falling back into the space behind it, it just vibrates out. The lights aren't secured in properly at all.

This has nothing to do with the topic... I just realized that my mom spent $6K (US) on a f'ing VIOLIN BOW. JUST the bow! the stick! ![]() ![]() To think... I could have bought a chipper with no wheels, that doesn't run for that kinda money!!! |

| I've seen a lot of 150XP's floating around lately, one with a winch @ $16k. What is the weight of this unit?

what the heck would you be doing with a 6" chipper out at Jimboomba where allt he trees are either hard assed wattles or giant eucs?? I know of a 12" vermeer, mid 90's 1250 model .... maybe $8k to $10K. I was thinking of buying it but it might interfere with my tree hugging plans.
