I am looking into getting a new saddle, and two options I have researched are the Tree Austria III and the Sequoia. I just want to know if anyone that has either of these could give me a quick overview of pros and cons for each. Thanks.

One thing I've noticed is that the Tree Austria has very awkward leg straps. The Sequoia leg loops open all the way, but the Tree Austria is a solid loop that is tightened by buckling. Just something to think about. Other than that, both are very comparable and either way you go, you're gonna get a great saddle.

Thanks for the input. I have tried on the Tree Austria, and actually climbed in the Sequoia, but I just wanted to hear how people who were climbing in these saddles every day felt about them.

I use the sequoia......can't think of a con....comfortable, I use a micro-mouse pulley on the bridge has 2 attachment points on the pulley....nice for working with 2 TIP's. Might take a couple of times of use to get tweaked in.

They are all similarly good, with a unique benefit to each ones speciality. Depends on the individuals climbing style & techniques. SWING if ya like to sit on ya butt. SEQUOIA if ya just everyday climb. SRT if you get a lot of use out of gadgets for access. |

Good question, the main reason I bought the standard sequoia was because of the quick connect waist buckle in front. I was offered the srt verson for the same price, and in fact, the srt was the original saddle i ordered, but I was sent a standard sequoia. When I called Karl Kumerling(the place I ordered it from) the salesman I spoke wih said they stopped carrying the srt model because they were not stocking them anymore because they were not near as popular because of the rason I mentioned above. I was a little skeptical and upset, that they would take it upon themselves to make that decision without contacting me. To make a long story short they agreed to let me use it while the srt was to be ordered and shipped. After the first day I liked the saddle so much after climbing a couple of dats , I decided to just keep it. You can use plenty of gadgets with the sequoia standard and climb srt to. I even rigged my own walker system that works great for long ascents. The srt model is designed for the tree frog method, a method I have never used, but keep in mind this is the first saddlle I have ever bought or used. |

Hey Banner, Thats right, the standard one does have a better waist buckle, and it's not like you cant do SRT with it. I think you got the better harness |
