Default Stump teeth sharpening diamond wheel

After using green wheels for a few years i switched over to a special made diamond wheel that has lasted 3 years before it needed to be "resurfaced"

Worth every cent!!

I can supply these wheels if needed

Wheels are typically 6" but can be made to order.

$287 inc gst +freight for the 6"

3M green wheels? Those green wheels make a huge mess.

I have had this wheel 6 years and resurfaced it once.

sharpened hundreds of stump teeth.

NOTE its just to sharpen the carbide not the steel holder you take the holder back with a steel grinding wheel.

The green wheels chew out pretty quick, but the worst bit is the toxic silicone dust that comes off them. No matter what masks & goggles i've tried while using them i could always find traces of the crap in my nose...

If i bothered sharpening teeth I'd get a diamond wheel for sure.

We just turn the RedTeeth 3 times to a new edge & piff em out.

Might be worth doing with one of these wheels though!

G'day Trev, I agree, tried sharpening the redteeth on a green wheel some years back, found that the diameter of the Tungsten Carbide was reduced and then exposed the pocket that holds the cutter to excessive wear from the soil you were working in.

Tossed up between changing $12.50 cutters or wearing out $26'ish pockets so gave the sharpening away, the cutters are pretty shagged by the time I take them off anyway.

Thats just what I found, others may have different experiences to ours I suppose.

I seem flat out getting 3 turns, 2 is about all and the cutters usually had it.
