Stihl starts fast and runs strong as hell. (get it?) I did a new pull cord (last year), and this year a new sprocket and bar. Always, ONLY ran hi-test fuel. Should have it back from Stihl dealer in 2 weeks. Something gave out in the pull start ass'y and I didn't feel like fixing myself. Plus he's doing tune-up. Can't justify owning another tree saw - have to let this one go. Has a small crack in the bottom plastic. Not noticeable and does not affect handling or operation. Comes with 3-4 good chains, lanyard, original combo-wrench, bar cover and manual. Rather not ship it, so if you're local to PA that's better. But if you're willing to pay shipping fine. If I can't get $240 then I'm not gonna sell. Shop's gonna bang me prolly $60 for the overhaul, maybe more. Email me at HangingJudge at Gmail dot com. It's a great tool - ZZZZing zinggggg.

What are they worth new? I have no idea. But $240 sounds cheap. Pull cords, funny you mention that, just busted one a few days ago, I always got spares. Then the neighbour came over with a busted one on his weed whacker .... what a mongrel one that one. Had double springs as was an easystart Talon crap thing, ping! Flat spring everywhere. ![]() We switched it out for a second hand spare he had. Bugger them easy start things! Good luck with ya sale, good back up saw.

Not that anyone cares, but I noticed that the brand new pull cord the dealer put in totally shed it's cover, and I'm pulling with the core only. Damn thing is all bunched up and now I have to change it (again!!) before it starts unraveling and mucking up all the spinning goodies in there. I'm going to use utility kernmantle, not pull cord. Last time I used old throwline (before they went real thin, when it used to look like thin kernmantle) and it worked great. Bollocks! Yeah, good back up saw, I'm keeping it. Also, now that I purchased a (Sobe? Thrillicious? Kobe? Beef? Sophia Shorai? Hello Goodbuy?) some kind of crazy Japanese 14" handsaw, I am using the chainsaws less aloft. This new saw makes such quick work of pruning that I only break out the Stihl for 5" diameter and above now. Ah, s__t, now I have to go look it up in Sherrill ... Silky Sugoi. Of course, I violated the first rule of cutting tools, which is never cut toward you, and the damn thing slammed into my thumb. (Yeah, no gloves too - niiiiiice.) Knew instantly I should have gone for a couple stitches, but instead I've been d___king around for two weeks making butterfly stitches out of 3M Transpore and it has finally closed. Never have I seen saw teeth that sharp. Every tooth is like a tiny tanto blade, sharp as a razor. Amazing - I highly recommend it.

You have to be carefull with those silkys!! I always wear gloves and replace the blade when it gets dull as i opened up the knuckles on my right hand quite nicely and couldnt straighten my middle finger for 8 months And they are supposed to safer!!! |
