i have a set up exactly like that. the velcro tends to stretch and the straps in the pads broke from the shaft moving while the pads were tight to my legs. they worked decent for a while. now im back to my klein offsets. id like to try a set of those wolf paws but they are almost 400 bucks i think. plus the velcro collects all kinds a crap. but they are easy on and easy off. if your not always in them they would be good for speratic jobs. if comforts an issue try wrapping an ace bandage under your pads. it lets you tighten the bajeezuz out of them and not cut your thighs and its a cheap quick fix

Mate, get the caddy pads, they even leave Gecko's for dead, you will NEVER LOOK BACK!

Order from Wesspurs and they are cheaper than velcro's including freight to your door.

Look for pic below, order them plus a pair of straps.

Yeah, really well and rigid, no creep around to the back of your calf muscle etc, no pinch or shin groove, simply, no bull!

You'll be cruisin' in Caddy's.

There's a video where we compared the combo to the high tech Gecko's you know.

For gaff pads, I use these. They're made by Buckingham, and they're verrrrrry comfy, I used the old style offset pads for a while and had to wrap towels around my ankles to keep them from getting bloody and raw.

These baby's... dang. Love em.

Ekka, I don't think they suck at all. They're comfy as hell, I've been using them for 6 months now (the pads shown in the pic I posted, not those gaffs)

And as Arborjockey mentioned, the 2 straps keep the gaffs nice and snug.
For me personally, I'm 6'7" tall, 36" inseam. I *LIKE* having the two wide-set leg straps. Keeps the gaffs from moving or rubbing. I've actually used the wrap around velcro ones as well, they were okay, no complaints, but I think my setup is more comfy.

I can spend a 10 hour day wearing gaffs, and the only thing that hurts at the end of the day is bottom of my foot. Still thinking about some of those plates.

You're a Saquatch, Therrin!!!

I used Therrin's mega-felt pads one single time last Summer, and left my spikes behind on the jobsite. When I realized it and went back, much sadness was experienced. They were nice, but warm as I remember.

So I dug out an old set in the garage and upgraded to these (below) last year, love them. I have them on the cheapest Buckingham spikes, so having them on some higher-end spikes should really rock

If the alloys aren't too expensive I wouldn't mind trying them. Looks like they wouldn't move much <shrug> I'm up for trying something different.
