keep it clean, and enjoy. add a friction saver and hand over hand becomes a snap. be sure to inspect all your gear before each climb.

Does anyone who owns one find they still revert back to a cord hitch for certain applications or would you always use the 'jack?

yes, for redirection and some times for footlocking to high places

i cant stand the way the cam jams when loaded, you must take the weight off to smoothly descend, is this a safety feature? i wish the jack would work with no effort; pull trigger and go. all the jacks are the same way. as much as i cant stand this feature i still buy them and will recommend the jacks to any experienced climber. i also think many improvements should be added to the jacks. i also think art has the ability to make a perfect jack but marketing profits would be much lower. it seems like they start with a near perfect product than add a bunch of little hurtles in the design, that way, every year they can remove a hurtle and advertise as new and improved. i could be way wrong as i sometimes my thinking is a little strange i like others will sometimes work with other methods. i often use a Blake's, or even an advances hitch when needed. for me the jack is just another tool in the big bag. i have yet to find one perfect tool for everything, and its always good to have a few other options up the sleeve. The right tool for the right job
