I've had it with spending on the company, the truck is my last purchase for the next 5 or so years.

If your not carefull you can fool yourself that a ton of kit will earn you heaps, that just don't work, I have a 100k's worth thats plenty for my little outfit..

The only thing I would do is sell my little doscko and buy a cheap hi-ab lorry, and thats a big, no huge maybe!

Yummm Roller,

When I was shopping for a truck the guy asked me what I needed in a truck. Since I'm a strictly residential operation, my needs were of getting in tight places (less distance dragging brush), so I need a truck with a tight turning radius. He says "What size?" "I don't really care, as long as it has a tight turning radius. I back the chipper up a lot, and need to turn the truck around do U-turns. My last two trucks have caused me a lot of agony, and it's a major issue I need to correct."

He said, "You need a topover." which I wasn't certain of exactly what that was at the time, but you know what he showed me? He showed me your truck, an Isuzu.

It's not what I got, but intrigued me greatly. It may be my next truck. Rear frame is flat, rather than bowing up and over the axel like a pickup frame. I saw a lot of advantages in your truck, but they couldn't show me anything but a plain old box, nothing specialized that could be adapted to the Arborist, nothing that even had dump capabilities.

You've got me inspired again. I'll need to get another truck in the future, and like you, I want one that's gonna go into the future and serve the Arborist well.

Is the turning radius truly good ( I never actually test-drove one), and what do you wish you had on it that you don't at the moment?

I would like to buy the same truck and pull a slightly bigger chipper, ive only done 30,000kms in 5 years on my current truck so if i did buy new it wouldnt lose alot of $$$$ with only 30-40,000kms going on the current market here.

Im hearing you loud n clear on buying too much kit!

The NPR comes out in a factory built tipper here Lee,Do they come out like that in trhe UK?

Aussie the NPR does come with a factory tipper here, NQR trucks only come chassis cab.

TM Mitsubishi and Isuzu, infact most COE trucks have the best turning circle! hum what isn't on the truck that I'd want, maybe rear flashing lights of some kind, strobes even, I can't think of anything else , oh yeah maybe a rear support bar on the dump body, to stop the side potentially bowing.

That shiney trailer is galvanised Ekka, but yes i'll start a thread about it..

Here are some pics of my truck lettered today, he put 'GROUND MAINTENANCE' instead of 'grounds maintenance' do you think its much of a big deal? He's a mate and charged a ridiculously low price!

Looks good

The mistake isnt too big a deal. With the other info it doesnt read too out of place.

He could easy just peel of "Ground" and re cut Grounds and apply it if it really bugs you.

This is why i got my own sign cutter after a few similar stuff ups. I dont make mistakes

Roller

That's smashing!

I love the error, keep it.

Ground maintenance is what good tree care is about, maintain that soil in good condition and you get healthier trees ... the spin off is if you get grounds maint work by default.

Nice looking truck. I like the roll up door on the tool box. I'm sure aluminum will pay for itself in fuel savings.
