Get an engine off a tractor like john deere or kubota.

Perkins makes a good diesel engine. A 4 cylinder, something out of a Massey Ferguson 165 tractor, is rated between 50, to 60 horse power.
I have a three cylinder Perkins in my loader tractor, and it is around 38 to 42 horsepower.
The engine that was on eBay, is around the 300 HP mark, if not over. By the looks of it, it could be a 92 silver series Detroit. You will defiantly need good hearing protection, running that engine. Bruce.
