| GEDAY TO EVERYONE, I'm new to the site and have found it pretty good stuff. Love the jokes...will drop the odd one in. Anyway.......to business........... Looking for a new Stump Grinder in AUST. The above seems the goods to me, particularly the centre swivel on the cutter deck. Has anyone got one or had experience with the SHP400? Has anyone had experience with Red Roo Stump Grinders? At around Au$15,000 plus GST they are pricey, anyone got any suggestions as to better value machines? Would appreciate any assistance in this matter. regards to all, Bill24. |

| Thanks A_LOPA for your reply. At this stage looking into machines, prices and the type best suited for my interests. Won't be buying for a while yet. If you have the time I would be interested as to what type of machine you think is best for general stump grinding,an all round machine I suppose. Two wheel single axle or 4 wheel heavier machine? (ps....Not thinking of doing anything near Drouin so will not be competing with your good self.) regards to all, Bill 24. |

| Bill, dont buy new, buy 2nd hand good machine and keep the $10k for repairs, it will be ample to keep you running for years. ![]()

| Took me awhile to work out how to post EKKA! Think I've got it now. Learning a lot from this great forum, blokes with plenty of nous.(nouse?) All comments are greatfully received and I appreciate your advice. I know this isn't the joke thread but though you might like this one. --------------------------------------------------------------------- title...............STOP CHOKING - AUSSIE STYLE scenario........BLUEY AND BAZZA HAVING A NIGHT IN THE BIG SMOKE A woman sitting in an Adelaide Pub suddenly began to cough. After a few seconds it became apparent that she was in real distress, the two bushies, Bluey and Bazza sitting at the next table turned to look at her. Ken ya swaller? asked Bluey The woman signalled 'No!', desperately shaking her head. Kin ya breathe?" asked Bazza. The woman shook her head No!!! With that, Bluey walked behind her, lifted up the back of her dress, yanked down her knickers and ran his tongue up and down the crack of her butt. This shocked the woman into such a violent spasm that the obstruction flew out of her mouth and she began to breathe again. Bluey swaggered back to his table and took a deep swig of his beer. Bazza said in admiration "Ya know Bluey, I'd heard of that bloody Hind Lick Manoeuvre, but that's the first time I ever seen somebody do it." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Regards to all Bill24. |

| G'day Bill, I bought a 16hp standard type stumper off REDROO about 10? years ago. Have had no probs whatsoever and she gets a GOOD workout. imple and easy to service. They tend to rebrand other machines (Carlton, Woodsman, Stumpmaster etc) thus parts are easy to come by. This machine does me as a small/light machine and a larger remote Carton for the rest. If I was to buy one machine, it would definately be a swiver head type self propelled machine. They do it all, big and small. Cheers |

| SHAGGS, Thanks for your opinions. I tend to agree and although just in planning stages can see that high standards are the norm in the majority of this forums members. It can only be good for the industry. The larger four wheel - hydraulic swivel head - machines would be more versatile and although dearer, much easier on the operator. regards to all, Bill24. |

| Its been a while since I posted and have been busy looking at Grinders, of the self propelled, 4 wheel variety. Like the look of the Bandit 29 HP Diesel (Lombardini)...........the motor gets a bit of bad press, but seems good machine otherwise, although over a grand for the cutter wheel bearings (around $550 each) seems a bit over the top. The Red roo 35HP petrol (Vanguard) looks pretty good, similiar to the bandit diesel. Wonder if anyone has experience with this, or either outfit, that they would be good enough to share. I prefer diesels but the 33hp Kubota Red Roo seems to be about $5K extra. Might have a better resale perhaps if you upgraded to larger machine down the track. Open to any info. on any good used machines, but need to be in first rate order to avoid down time. Regards to all, bill24. Time for the "joke of the year'..........scroll down...... | Thanks A.M. Yr comments are really appreciated when this much hard earned is going to be spent! Have you had the machine long, hours? Breakdowns/parts supply? What cutters are you running, did you stick with their rotatable ones? They have a SP7015, 48HP Duetz diesel at around $48K, would you reckon that would be better value for you, suit yr. jobs, if you bought now? Sorry to ask all this stuff, but its pretty good to be able to ask an experienced owner. Thanks & regards Bill. |

| GEDAY NEWGUY18, I reckon I'm better off buying it factory fitted if I go diesel. They have a 33hp Kubota but I'm still trying to work out the pros and cons of the 35HP petrol Vanguard, on trade the diesel will be much better, will think about it for a while yet. Thanks for your imput, appreciate it. regards Bill24. |
