The vertical rollers and smart feed are awesome. Also the 1500 would be a lot lighter than equivalent machines from other brands.

I have used BC 1400 a fair bit. They seem pretty good.
It's not usually economically feasible to retro fit a hydraulic winch.
A friend of mine has fitted an 8,000lb warn electric winch to his Bandit 250. He says it works ok and has done up to 5 hours work without killing the battery.

Vermeer should be able to hook up a winch for a bit of money.

We only run Morbark's. For a reason. I like the vertical roller's on Vermeer. In all fairness, it's ok, just not a Vermeer chipper fan.

The machines themselves are good, some of the mechanics @ the dealers aren't.

Yea at work we have a 1000XL and 1800XL. The 1800 is about 3.5t, this is still a big difference when looking at machines like the Bandit which can potentially hit the 7-8t mark depending on the machine.

Just make sure to keep the rails for the rollers lubricated otherwise the auto feed system has trouble feeding. Don't use grease on the rails!

We fed 8 cocos palms through one and it smashed it, through the chip out far and no chute clogging, very impressive.
