Default My new Muck Truck Max is handy.

A few months ago I purchased a "Max" Muck Truck. At under 300 lbs, 27" wide and which has a payload of 800lbs this little guy sure is handy. I have hauled big loads of tree blocks up long hills pushing 40 degrees incline in 2nd gear without a whimper. With the aluminum ramp I can load ,unload it onto my pickup truck without disconnecting my chipper/dump trailer.
This winter I am building a bunk/ rack out of 1"X2" steel tubing to replace its skip box. I will then be able to load it right up with brush. The front upright stakes will fold down to the ground and with a hand winch mounted on the back of the rack I will be able to winch[roll] 6 foot long logs up to 3 feet diameter onto the machine.
I'll post more pics as the project progresses.
Willard.

In third gear you have to walk fast to keep up. 5 -6 mph I would estimate.
There are some excellent videos on the Muck Truck website, an interesting attachment video is their powerlift attachment. I can see a log clam[grapple] being added to it. Dual wheels for the front are also available, which would bring it to about 35 " inches wide.

Thanks.
Its width is 27" inches wide, very compact and maneuverable. With dual tires 35".
I did alot of research on this machine before I bought it, and its built heavy where needed. The hinge structure on the dump skip is 1/2" inch thick steel plate. The tires have the deepest lugs I have seen on a tire this size. The Honda 5.5 hp engine is a reliable one along with the Peerless tranmission/ transaxle.
With my bunk/rack I'm going to built to replace its skip, it will haul my brush and logs to the chipper. I open the side door of my trailer ,and with the ramp I can drive the machine right inside and dump my oversize firewood blocks, 6 foot long logs and buckets of stump grindings.
I don't own a mini-skid steer so this little machine would do the grunt work for my small operation at a lower cost and less impact on the customers lawns etc.
Willard.

There is a tag on the machine that says:manufactured for Niche Products Sales LLC
Port St. Lucie, Florida USA
34986
So now I'm not sure if they are built in Florida. Probably Britain still. I guess thats one thing I didn't research.

I guess it pays to read the owners manual LOL.
Its says designed and engineered by MUCKTRUCK LTD Launcesten United Kingdom.
Manufactured by C&F Manufacturing Phils. Corp in the Philippines.
Their website says manufactured in 4 continents.

Haha I thought so too when I first saw it . But the little bugger sure looked tough sitting beside a mountain of wood after a 12 hour day hauling rounds up a steep hill.
I snagged this one job because in my estimate I quoted all wood hauled to roadside. The hill was perfectly landscaped on a lake shore cottage lot.
The only other way to get those trees out from down there would be by tug boat and if I did that, Conservation resource officers would have me locked up in a flash.

looks like a handy little thing, on the honda motor make sure you ways shut off the gas or it will end up filling the crank case full of gas. i have an 11hp honda 2 years old on a log splitter i made and i for got to turn the gas off and i move the spliter about half a mile and checked the oil and out came about 2-3 quarts of gas and oil. (it only take about a quart to change the oil.

Thanks for the advice Axe, I'll keep an eye on it.
I'm even thinking about replacing the 5.5 hp Honda with a larger 8hp or bigger engine and larger drive pulley. Maybe stick dual tires front and back. Honda engines are not that expensive these days.

Speaking of tea Cole. If I not drinking Irish breakfast, I use 1 bag of green and 1 bag of peppermint with lots of honey in my 1 liter thermos. These are my choices for over 30 years.

Here is a couple of photos of myself hauling a load of limbs and tops to the chipper on a job I did this afternoon. The customer didn't make a very good photographer, she should have got the whole load in the frame LOL.
The other day I welded up a temporary rack out of 1" steel tubing, which I bolted on top of the Muck Truck's tray.
This load of birch limbs shown in these photos passed with ease through a 36" inch gate with 9" to spare. Machine is 27" wide.

Looks like a neat thing to have around. If it gets lippy, turn the key, and it's quiet. When it is needed to do a job, it get done without any complaining (hopefully not), and only uses one drink, and doesn't get drunk to boot. Bruce.

I swear I'm getting jobs done faster now by myself with this Muck Truck then when I did with my old employee dragging my brush for me. Every day as I'm working with this little machine I'm thinking of something I can add to it. It has an optional 4 foot wide snow plow attachment available, so why can't I make a 4 ft wide rake like Branch Manager or others have for their mini skids. Cleanup would be so much quicker especially with this turn on a dime machine.
There is also a ball hitch attachment available so this machine can tow a trailer weighing 5,000 lb. Why can't I mount a low arch with hand winch in the middle of the machine with the tray off, then winch a tree butt up and back putting weight on the tires for traction , then pull the whole tree[small-medium] to the chipper.

If you want something handy for clean ups, have a look at this outfit. Estate Rakes .
I bought one at a yard sale, last summer for $60.00, I think, and boy does it ever do a good job. Bruce.

Nice looking setup Bruce but I think it might be a little too flimsy for pushing up course sticks, twigs day in day out.
Plus I need a rake about 4 feet wide mounted directly on to the front of the machine for quick easy access in tight spots and also less equipment to carry around from job to job.

I guess you have a point. How about something like a broom, that you see sometimes on road construction. Not the ones that are like rollers, but a rectangular bristle broom, that you could mount on the front like a snow blade, and push everything together. Bruce.

I like the muck truck, but am even more interested in some more pics of you chipper setup. It' looks like an all in one set up, I've never seen that before. Looks like it would be a huge time saver.

Hello PL welcome to TreeWorld.
Go down this 1st page of Tree gear and machinery to the thread "Show us your rig /Truck Set up."
I started my first post at #23, and I explain everything about my homemade chipper/ stump grinder trailer.

No thats a 2000 [year] Morbark 2060D Cyclone 6" disc with 35hp Wisconson V4 gas. It is now called the Beever 8.
I built the side dump trailer with a side platform for my 36" wide Vermeer 252 stump grinder. The trailer is only 6 foot 6 inch wide.

Here is 2 photos of 1 of 3 jobs I did yesterday.
Here I removed a 23 meter [75 ft] white spruce. I couldn't pile limbs any higher on the Muck Truck. It took 2 of these loads to haul away the limbs and top of this tree to the chipper.

Nice pictures. Is the grass white there, where you are, or is that snow? (I know that it is snow )
We had that white stuff flying around down here on Friday. One plowed field, you see it on top of the ground. Kind of early though. Bruce.
