Hi, thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself with my first post. I'm Graham, live in Brisbane (Chapel Hill) and although I work in an office, I envy you guys who spend your working days outdoors, as I enjoy tailoring the myriad of trees and shrubs in my back yard to my liking. I'm currently attempting to recreate a rainforest there, which is proving difficult (but not impossible) in these water-sensitive times. Anyway, the second reason for my post... The chain-oiler on my electric chainsaw (McCulloch Electramac 14E) has stopped working and before I dismantle the thing to work out why, I was hoping that someone out there may have a copy of the manual (seem to have lost mine!) or an exploded parts diagram to help me along. If you do, please PM me. I need to fix this little sucker sooner rather than later as I've got a large palm that needs to come down soon to make way for others and a wayward gum that is due for re-shaping again. Cheers guys, Graham |

not familiar with mculloch but usually its just a bit of crap lodged in the pump. take some photos as you dismantle as rebuild reference, should nt be too hard to fix

Start with pulling the bar and chain off, make sure it's oiling when running without bar and chain ... you should see oil coming out of a little hole. Also, old oil can get a little hard with sawdust etc, I spay WD40 or Inox thru the little tube down the hole. In the oil tank is also a filter, get a bit of wire and hook it out and check it out. Rinse out the tank with some fuel just to get it clean. If all that fails then the pump is likely stuffed, should be pretty easy to get to is, will be in the same side as the drive chain sprocket usually ... but you'll still need parts. Palms corrode alloy parts, if you have been cutting palms then it could be corroded etc.

Cool. Of course, the process of elimination. With a bit of luck I may be able to fix the little beggar without even dismantling. Thanks for the info guys! |
