Default Kanga Terminator honda problems

Long story short on one of my stumpgrinders the 24hp honda motor has seized a crank after 94 hrs.Hopefully this should be a warranty thing but I was quoted $5800nzd for a replacement.I can rebuild any of my larger truck motors for this sort of money. I havent started to look yet but what are you guys paying over in oz for a replacement motor.I would consider the 35hp briggs as I thought the honda had been a problematic pig from the start.Any one else having these sorts of issues with the honda in oz?
Kanga here have changed hands so dont seem that keen to be involved.

Vanguard briggs or Kohler.

Watch the weight, Kanga could be nose heavy.

You'll need to re-align/offset the motor.

Haven't you already been down this track?

repowering the kanga terminator

I have maybe 500 hours up now, Honda 24HP still fine. I would not replace with another Honda though ... the prices for repairing Honda's are through the roof, best to replace with another engine.

Hi Mark, we sell some gear with Briggs and Stratton and Honda's on them, but less hp than what you are talking about. Most Honda's they give a two year warranty, but just one model we know of has a one year warranty - supposedly this is their vote for not such a good engine. At the moment all have been going fine. Honda's do have a good rep, I don't about rebuild like Ekka however.

Good luck,

Cam
