Default Keepin those knive's sharp

Hi A-Lopa,
We use a similar toy a GMC linisher 1/3 hp cost about $100 dollars but we have to take our knives off, And we found it's better to keep the edge good rarther than letting them get to blunt, before you sharpen them.

That is a very interesting tool. Do you know if it will fit into a Bandit 250xp?

I am 1 of 2 Saw Doctors on the Island. We sharpen chipper blades, for a modest price of 20quid a set. (Its a second income). Hollow ground and honed to a 'T'. Blades will last better when sharpened this way, rather than with what you have there a_lopa. The rotory file will generate too much heat and take out the temper from your blades. Do you have sharpening companies at all? Chipper blades are generally sharpened to a 25 degree hollow ground bevel and then a 35 degree hone brought back on the edge to about 1/8 of an inch. This gives a much better cut that will last for ages.

I only touch up knives that arnt pebble bashed etc on a pedastal belt sander coarse grade then fine.Roughly every second sharpen gets done properly. These knives will fit a bandit 9" one knive not 2.these are a "hard"set i run other brands as well never have dull knives on the machine.

regular sherril knive and a blakelys.

a_lopa, do you have to cut that Blakeley in half?, Usualy comes as a set of 2.

The trees over here you can guarantee that there is some form of stone or grit been dragged up inside the trunk and your chipper will hit it and take out a chunk or 2 or 10.

I see on the smaller 1 that there is no second bevel (honed edge) included diagram.
